About Us

Five generations of the Stricklin family have produced quality farm and garden tools handles.

My great grandfather, grandfather, and father were old time blacksmiths who maintained and repaired their own and their customer’s farm and garden tools.  I worked with them in the shop as a young man while I was learning my dad’s farming techniques and logging our trees with him.  We were taught to log and farm the old-fashioned way with mules, plows and hand tools.

After graduating college at Middle Tennessee State University, I worked with True Temper Corporation and met my future business partner Bobby Bartley.  There we gained experience in making quality hand tools.  I continued on with Tennessee Wood Works after True Temper closed.  While with Tennessee Wood Works I supervised daily operations making handles exclusively for Woodings Verona Tool Co.

In 1992 my co-worker Bobby and I started the Dixie Handle Company, Inc.  Our Christian values, faith and family traditions are the guidelines to our business.  Shortly before Bobby’s passing, my wife, Carole and I bought his half of the business and continued on as a family business.  After many years of coming to help after school, my son Cainan, immediately came on full time after graduating high school.  My daughter, Brittany, who worked for us as a bookkeeper in years past, plans to return in the future to raise her family and continue operations with Cainan after my retirement.

It is our intention to share our knowledge and skill in making a product that will serve your needs and make our family proud.  We want to continue with you through years of service.

Sincerely,

Mike Stricklin
